L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

Interview With The Vampire : Claudia's Story

Interview With The Vampire : Claudia's Story is a graphic novel by Ashley Marie Witter, adapted from Anne's Rice Interview With The Vampire.

Famously known for her Vampire Chronicles, Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire was made into a film in 1994 which stars Tom Cruise as Lestat, Brad Pitt as Louis, Kirsten Dunst as Claudia, Antonio Banderas as Armand and Christian Slater as Daniel Molloy.

I remember the beautiful intro to the movie, with night scenery of San Francisco and the hauntingly beautiful sound of opera music. In the movie, it focuses more on Louis perspective as he shares his life story to Daniel, a reporter  in San Francisco.

In this book however it tells the story from Claudia's perspective. Being a child vampire, Claudia starts to resent Lestat for turning her into a vampire. As times goes by, she gets even more angsty, feeling trapped in a child's body for an eternity.

The story is a heartbreaking one and even has an even more tragic ending. The manga-like art style by Ashley Marie Witter is beautiful, with constrasting splashes of blood in pages that's mostly black and white.

A must have if you're a fan of graphic style book and a lovely companion for the Anne Rice's vampire book collector.
