L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

Hello Stranger Cafe

Hello Stranger Cafe is an Asian and Western fusion cafe located at The Walk, Riverson. Their menu are largely inspired by Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine, with a mix of western style breakfast. The perfect place to celebrate Mazel's early birthday on a Sunday afternoon.

Teriyaki Chicken

My choice of lunch as I love Teriyaki chicken and sunny side up egg, but only the egg white part. I always took out the egg yolk  part and placed it on my friend's plate, sometimes without them knowing, lmao. These chicken slices are quite tender, sweet and savoury.

Chicken Katsu Curry

Irene who just got back from Japan had chosen this menu because apparently her heart is still in Japan, lol. The chicken slices are crispy and the curry are quite tasteful but somehow this menu is lacking something that she can't put her finger on,  sentiments and nostlagia. ðŸ˜‚

Nevertheless it's still quite delicious, the perfect lunch for Japanese curry lovers.

Yakitori Don

The most flavourful out of all the menu that we had chosen. A little salty for my taste but it's the right type of salty-ness for  an authentic Japanese style meal as they love their food a tad bit saltier. The flavour that burst in your mouth shows just how well these pieces of chicken are marinated.

Oyakodon

A mix of fried eggs with chicken. Martina's preferred choice of lunch. It's filled with scrambled eggs and chunks of chicken. A simple meal that's quite delicious.

Butter Chicken Banh Mi

This is a Vietnamese style sandwich which consist of french baguette with butter chicken filling. I love the flavourful butter chicken and the fresh lettuce, but the outer crust of the baguette is a little tough for my liking.

Matcha Honey Cream Cake

Even though it's stated as a Matcha Honey Cream Cake, there's little hint of Matcha in it, it's very heavy on honey and it drowns away all the green tea flavour. Cayla who loves everything sweet really likes this but the rest of us were not too fond of it.

There's a book shelf at the end of the cafe, complete with a ladder, along with some cozy looking sofa. I even spotted Diary Of A Wimpy Kid on the shelf, if you haven't read the book series yet you should, because it's strangely hilarious, in a self deprecating way. Anyway it's perfect to browse around these books if you're waiting for a friend or in need of something to pass the time.

Overall we do enjoy ourselves here and the cozy ambience is definitely quite appealing. Hello Stranger Cafe serves no pork on their menu. If you're into Asian and Western fusion cafe, or if you're looking for a cafe that serves Viet Phin or Vietnamese Coffee, this should be on your list of cafe to try.
