L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

SilkyGirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

Matte lipsticks are the best. Not only do they stay visibly long on the lips, they also keep you free from having to constantly re-apply lipstick throughout the day.


Matte Junkie Lip Cream in 01 Retro and 11 Terracotta are a few of my favourites from the brand SilkyGirl. They've been my go to lipsticks for a while now and I've purchased a few of these with the same colours everytime I visit Watsons or Guardians. When I love something, I stick to it for a long, long time, lol.


Liquid formula that dries to a matte finish, the texture is neither thick nor lightweight, and I do find it to be quite comfortable once it dries on the lips. Once it settles, the colour doesn't buldge, and it doesn't look patchy at all, though I do noticed the pigmentation is a little opaque, and you'll need a few swipes to get the perfect blend of colour.


01 Retro is a nude rosy colour, My Lips But Better kind of colour. I tend to avoid nude colours but this one seems to fit me right and doesn't make me look too washed out.


11 Terrracota is a brick, brown colour which reminds me a lot of 90s style lipstick. This is a very flattering colour especially on warm, tan skin.


I used to have dry lips but ever since I diligently apply lip balm every night before bed time, I don't suffer from cracked lips anymore. If you love wearing matte lipstick, it's crucial to keep your lips soft and smooth as most of the time, matte lip colours tends to accentuate dry lines, which results in less than smooth looking finish.

So far, my nightly routine has saved me from dry lips and I'm thankful for that because I love wearing these matte lip colours 😊
