L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

Base Notes
Patchouli, Vanilla

Givenchy Very Irrésistible Sensual includes a mixture of centofolia rose, peony rose, fantasia rose, passion rose, emotion rose, verbena leaf, star anise, vanilla and patchouli.

To be honest, I have never been attracted to the scent of roses. I find them to be a bit too mature, a little too soapy, a little too powdery, and most of the time they're also a bit headache inducing. But I wanted to try this as perfumes between late 90s - early 2000s tend to be more well blended and never quite as sweet as today's scent.

When I first tried this, I was expecting the harsh dry opening of roses. But instead I get a soft whift of peony and roses, a slightly sugary sweet floral with a hint of musk. It' s sensual and intoxicating, I find it to be mysterious and very irresistable. I actually wore this during the day and never find it to be cloying, it also has a great staying power. It dries down to a musky vanilla base with hints of woody notes from the earthy patchouli.

It also has the perfect sillage, people get a whiff of this intoxicating scent when you walk pass. It's subtle and doesn't scream from across the room, hello La Vie Est Belle, lol.

Givenchy Very Irrésistible Sensual is a sophisticated and distintive scent as I haven't smell anything quite as similar as this. A unique and inviting scent that will set you apart from the current mass of sticky sweet smelling crowds.
