L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

BBLabs Mangosteen Brightening Detox Serum

B&BLabs is a Malaysian skincare brand that pushes skincare beyond the conventional by integrating traditional modalities with the latest technology. Previously I'd tried out their CustoMask, a targeted and treatment-grade sheet mask customized through an AI skin assessment test to ensure the CustoMask you get is exactly what you need.

Later on I was invited to do a survey on the CustoMask and in exhange they would either sent me the Advanced Durian Hydration Serum or Mangosteen Brightening Detox Serum. Even though I was super curious on the Durian serum since it seems quite fascinating to have it listed as a skincare ingredient, I decided to pick Mangosteen Brightening Detox Serum since I'm still trying to lighten my pigmentations. Mangosteen is another ingredient that I wouldn't expect in a skincare. I love eating Mangosteen so it really peak my interest to see how it'll work on my skin.

Ingredients :
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Garcinia Mangostana Peel Extract, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer, C13-14 Isoparaffin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

BBLabs Mangosteen Brightening Detox Serum comes in a set of 3x5ml bottles serum. This is a potent serum and you'll only need to use a few drops of it each time. The texture is quite watery and there is no noticeable scent as fragrance is not listed in the ingredient. I apply this day and night, after applying my toner and serum. Once I applied this on, I'll top it off with my hydrating gel moisturizer.

At first, I was quite wary to apply this potent serum on my skin as I have sensitive skin and I'm worried about suffering from an allergic reaction. However after trying this out one night, I woke up without any skin reaction, no redness, no itchy-ness, so it's safe to proceed to try this on the next day. Unlike those brightening skincare products that contains Arbutin which sometimes cause sun-sensitivity to my skin, this one is quite gentle on skin. The fact that they skip fragrance in this serum also lowers the risk of irritation, perfect for those with easily aggravated skin.

I'm now on my 3rd and last bottle. So far it has worked well in brightening my complexion and it helps a lot to lighten up random spots on my skin. The result however is not instantaneous and you'll need to diligently apply this at least twice a day, however you'll definitely noticed a difference once you'd finish the first bottle. It also seems to give my skin a smooth, mattifying effect, with less breakouts.
