L de Lolita Lempicka

L de Lolita Lempicka was launched in 2006 and the fragrance was created by perfumer Maurice Roucel. The bottle was designed by Sylvie de France. From the perfume ad and the aquamarine, pebble heart shaped bottle with the golden net, this perfume reminds me a lot of the deep blue ocean and mermaids. Even though I have an affinity for mermaids, I'm not too fond of aquatic scent, which is why I steer clear from this perfume for years, thinking it as another harsh clean scent.  The only reason why I got this is because of the bottle, it's been discontinued for years and I wanted to get this before it's gone. So imagine my surprise when I first tried it on. Instead of being bombarded with screechy and sharp aquatic scent, I was left with a delicious oriental vanilla scent that conjures images of Christmas baking. I immediately regret not getting a full bottle of this years before it's been discontinued, lol. Top Notes Bitter orange,   Bergamot

Faerie Magazine - The Mermaid Issue

I love mermaids, I love them so much I even named my online handmade jewelry shop after something that reminds me of them, lol. So today, on Day 14 of MCO, let's dive into the world of mermaids🧜

When it comes to magazines that are sold around here, there's not a lot of them that specially covers mythical creatures. Luckily I stumbled upon Faerie Magazine, now currently known as Enchanted Living. A quarterly print magazine that covers all things enchanted, it's definitely a must have if you're a fantasy and mythology enthusiast.

The Mermaid Issue is the summer issue that I bought during their sales, and I got it for around RM42 after conversion rate, which also includes shipping charges from the US.

A beautiful mermaid picture by Cheryl Walsh Fine Art Photography. I've always wanted to do an underwater photoshoot, but I'm going to improve my swimming skills first before doing that 😂

There's a Mermaid School in Singapore, founded by Syrena, Singapore's first professional mermaid. Here in asia, the topic of mermaid is not exactly common, so I really admire her for doing something different than the rest.

These beautiful mermaid tails are from Finfolk Productions, they cost thousands of dollars and have a long wait list if you're thinking of getting one from them. Definitely worth the wait if you're lucky enough to afford one 😁

It also features short story from Shveta Thakrar, illustrations from Guinevere Von Sneeden and lots of crafts idea. Basically you get all things mermaid and oceanic in this issue, and my inner mermaid approves of this 😂

Enchanted living are available in both print and digital issues. Besides their quarterly magazines, there's also The Faerie Handbook, The Mermaid Handbook and the soon to be released The Unicorn Handbook, which you should definitely get if you're a unicorn lover 🦄
